ITALIAN FOOD TOUR
Every Italian person with foreign friends has been told: “ just you Italians talk about food even while you’re eating!”.
Yes we do, we did and we will do.

Perhaps because the Italian food and culinary traditions are rooted in us just as our love for our country.
That’s why in our road bike tour in Italy, in addition to letting you experience a wonderful road bike tour in the most gorgeous Italian scenery, we would like you to enjoy, to smell and to taste real Italian food, so not only a bike holiday but Italian food tasting too.

There were important changes in Italian cuisine after the introduction, from the “new world” (discovery of America, XIV century), of new ingredients, like potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and corn, now basics in our cuisine.
Italian cuisine is mostly well known for its variety of regional dishes, its abundance in taste and seasoning and as a classic example of a Mediterranean diet, and since 2010 the Mediterranean diet has been considered Unesco heritage.
The US television station CNN ranks it first among the most popular cuisines globally.

The main characteristic of Italian cooking is simplicity, with most dishes made of 4 to 8 ingredients. The Italian cooks trust in quality ingredients instead of complex recipes.
The traditional recipes, over the centuries, have been created by grandmothers instead of chefs.

Pasta has a primary role in the Italian diet, providing carbohydrates for sportive people, and in the cycling vacation that our guests spend with us, they can taste it in different versions, like the famous “cacio e pepe”, or with wild-boar sauce in Tuscany, or “pizzoccheri” in the Alps, with buckwheat flour, good food for sportive people, to the well-known “carbonara”, the right mix of energy and proteins.

Cheese (a food of which Italy can boast the greatest diversity of existing types) and wine (of which Italy is the world’s largest producer) constitute an important part of Italian cuisine, with many native varieties and specific legal protection, the Denomination of controlled origin (DOC).
Coffee, especially espresso and Neapolitan coffee, is also an important and typical drink in Italy.

In our cycling holiday inTuscany, Piedmont and Apulia, well known for their exquisite wines, so leave some time and energy for excellent dinners.

In our road bike tour, whether it is the Tuscany bike tour or the Alps bike tour or the Italian lakes bike tour or the Dolomites bike tour or the Apulia bike tour, we carefully choose restaurants to make you live emotions not only cycling, but also when we are sitting and relaxing in the evening in front of a table, where we could have a good wine tasting too!

We think that the knowledge of a nation’s culture must also pass through its kitchen……

Breathe Italy, taste Italy, join us!
